The chrysalids sets a story in the city of Waknuk, which after a nuclear war, still has radiation being emitted, resulting plants , animals or even people to be mutant. Due to their beliefs, they do not allow mutated things or people to live in there, these things are being burnt while the people are being send to Fringes. David soon meets a girl named Sophie, which he found out that she has 6 toes. For the safety of Sophie. David was told to keep it a secret. When David found out that he and his cousin, Rosalind, could communicate through telepathy, he realized that they were in the same danger as Sophie. Together with his friends, David left Waknuk in search of people who had the same ability as them. When David finally arrives back at Waknuk , he ,Petra and Roasalind are captured by the Fringe people and sent to the “spider man.” By the end the remaining telepaths are rewarded for their perseverance when the Sealand lady arrives and rescues them. David, Rosalind, and Petra immediately fly with the Sealand lady to Sealand, while Michael and Rachel stay in Waknuk for the meanwhile, hoping to join the rest at Sealand soon.

I feel that the ending is not good as it ends abruptly with David and friends being rescued by the Sealand lady. Sophie fate was not to be known while David and his friends ran away to some other places. War started between the city of Waknuk and the people of Fringes, but David and his friends could not solve the situation. Instead, they were capture by the people of Fringes and later are rescue by the Sealand lady.The ending does not show how the war ended nor did David went back to the city of Waknuk. It was like hanging in the middle of nowhere, the plot was good but the ending ruined the story.

My own ending...

After David and friends left for Sealand, the people of Waknuk and Fringes started a war.Seeing the world in chaos, God sent Tribulation again and everything was wiped out.The city of Waknuk was gone, and it became a place of deserted land.
